Function and Benefits
A shut-off valve regulates the water flow in a reverse osmosis system. In systems with a storage tank, it controls whether the filtered water is directed into the tank or directly to the faucet. This function helps the valve efficiently control water consumption and prevent unnecessary water waste. Our pressure valve operates fully automatically and requires no electrical power. Therefore, it is suitable for almost any reverse osmosis system and can be easily integrated.
Why is a shut-off valve important for a reverse osmosis system?
If you are using a reverse osmosis system with a storage tank, it is essential to install a shut-off valve. Without it, the water would continue to flow continuously, potentially leading to excessive wastewater production. A correctly installed shut-off valve automatically detects when the tank is full and interrupts the water flow. At the same time, it can direct the water directly to the faucet if needed. This optimizes water consumption, prevents unnecessary flushing cycles, and extends the lifespan of the filters and membranes.
How the shut-off valve works
The valve operates based on a pressure mechanism and functions without an external power source. It is universally compatible with reverse osmosis systems using 1/4-inch tubing. Once the storage tank is fully filled, the pressure generated triggers an automatic lock that stops the water flow and redirects it. Thanks to the JG quick-connect fittings, no additional accessories are required. For correct installation, it is advisable to follow the manufacturer's instructions.
